End of Year Action: NGO Fransiskus Green Action Holds Action to Plant 100 Mahogany Trees in Dolok Tor Simarbarimbing
On Friday, 29 November 2024, the NGO Fransiskus Green Action planted 100 mahogany trees at Dolok Tor Simarbarimbing, Sibolga. Before the team left there, Pst. Kasimirus, OFM.Cap prayed for the event to be successful.
The tree planting activity was to commemorate the time when the Holy Father, Pope Johannes Paul II, crowned St. Francis of Assisi as protector of ecology.
Environmentalists then scheduled an event to plant 100 trees to continue the mission of caring for the environment and also as a commemoration of the coronation of Saint Francis of Assisi 45 years ago.
This action to plant 100 trees was initiated by Francis Green Action Pandan and was attended by monks and nuns, namely from the Sisters of the OSF Sibolga congregation, Sisters of the FJJM Siantar congregation, Capuchin priests/priests, Capusin Brothers, postulants, prospective priests and from the Franciscan Green Action Institute Pandan.
For additional information, the NGO Fransiskus Green Action was founded by Johannes Sihotang with self-funding. Johannes Sihotang is an English teacher at Fransiskus Pandan Middle School. He is an environmentalist.

Konsul Amerika Medan Kristy Mordhorst mengunjungi para aktivist muda pantai barat Sibolga Tapanuli Tengah untuk menambah jejaring pada isu lingkungan, HAM dan Gender 10 Januari 2023, besoknya diteruskan mengunjungi Konservasi dan penangkaran tokek penyu besutan Sdr. Budi Sikumbang di pantai Binasi Sorkam.
